The Online Musical Theater Intensive is a cutting edge, four-week course providing rigorous musical theater training anchored in the core belief of the Stella Adler Studio, that growth as an actor and growth as a human being are synonymous. This program includes the finest Master Teachers in Los Angeles, and students will take classes in such topics as On Camera Scene Study, Film Technique, From the Script to the Sound Stage, and classes with Industry Professionals. This five-week intensive is designed to help the actor address, de-mystify, and master the challenges they face in audition, on set, and on location, in all film and digital media. It is a foundation-building course which approximates a full term of our Professional Conservatory and explores the core elements of conservatory style training no matter where you are in the country! The program will take place from January 11-22nd on Zoom. We are thrilled to announce that the Billie Holiday Theatre is able to provide 15 full scholarships for the 2020 10in10 Winter Immersion. The program will highlight certain key historical moments like the Harlem Renaissance, the Black Power movement and the genesis of the Negro Ensemble Company, as well as many Black theaters that emerged during the Black Arts Movement. Students will leave with an understanding of the aesthetic, socio-cultural and historical components involved in bringing contemporary Black theater to life. Applications are open for the Black Arts Institute Summer Intensive, a five-week comprehensive exploration of the history of the contemporary Black theater tradition, led by a world-class faculty. The Institute offers two programs in 2020 exploring the history of the contemporary Black theater tradition with courses held at the Billie Holiday Theatre in Brooklyn, NY. The Black Arts Institute is an immersive acting program offered in partnership between the Billie Holiday Theatre and Stella Adler Studio.
